WHAT IS THE GERBERA PROJECT?

We are an aspiring nonprofit organization that aims to provide comfort and solace to Jews in America in the face of rising antisemitism. Our mission is to honor the humanity of our Jewish brothers and sisters by promoting a safe environment that celebrates their unique identity and reminds them that there are still those in this world who will stand in solidarity with them against hatred.

HOW WILL WE MEET OUR MISSION?

The Gerbera Project seeks to create a safe and inclusive environment for the Jewish people in the following ways:

  1. 1. In-person interfaith activities to promote solidarity and communication between Jews and non-Jews

2. Gerbera Pals: a pen-pal campaign for Jewish and non-Jewish students designed to offer comfort to Jewish youth during a time of great pain and uncertainty. We also offer the same program for non-Jewish religious institutions and synagogues.

3. Rabbi Story Hour

5. Interfaith Art Projects

6. Interfaith meetups for adults and kids

7. Designing gifts and other souvenirs to fund interfaith activities

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PURPOSE OF THESE ACTIVITIES IS NOT TO CONVERT EITHER JEWS OR NON-JEWS. THEY ARE ONLY FOR FELLOWSHIP AND SOLIDARITY. CONVERSION WILL NOT BE PROMOTED.

WHAT DO WE MEAN WHEN WE CALL OURSELVES β€œAN ASPIRING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION?”

The Gerbera Project is currently looking for volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors. Until a Board of Directors is in place, we cannot incorporate ourselves as a nonprofit. Individuals with legal, nonprofit, accounting and conflict resolution expertise are especially encouraged to apply.

If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors or in helping out with any of our activities, please contact us at thegerberaproject@gmail.com or send a submission through our Contact Page!
